Advance Your HGV Career with an LGV/HGV Cat C+E Licence

If you're looking to increase your income and enhance your professional HGV driving CV, stepping up to an HGV Cat C+E licence (Class 1 licence) is the way to go. Unlike the standard Cat C licence, which is common for most professional drivers, an HGV Cat C+E licence allows you to drive vehicles over 7.5 tonnes with detachable or separate trailers. This licence is also referred to as a Class 1 Licence. So, if you see a job requiring a Class 1 licence, you'll know it means you need your HGV Cat C+E for that role.

Who Should Take Cat C+E Training

If you’re already an experienced Cat C driver and want to explore higher earning potential, upgrading to a Cat C+E licence offers access to a wider range of better-paid jobs. Newly qualified Cat C licence holders eager to advance quickly can also benefit from this training. Additionally, if you don't yet have either licence, you can book our back-to-back training to complete both consecutively. For those starting from a car licence (Category B), you can also opt to go directly to Cat C+E, which is an increasingly popular route.
